CanCELL HCT-116-RPS6KB1 (-/-)
CanCELL HCT-116-RPS6KB1 (-/-) is a human colon adenocarcinoma cell line with a biallelic knock-out of the RPS6KB1 gene.
CanCELL cell lines are generated by making use of our proprietary TALEN™ technology.
The RPS6KB1 TALEN™ binds precisely its recognition site within the RPS6KB1 gene, inducing a DSB at this site. This DSB is repaired by nonhomologous end joining (NHEJ). Due to the error-prone nature of NHEJ, a proportion of DSBs will be misrepaired by the addition and/or deletion of nucleotides. These frame shift mutations within the genomic sequence occur at the site of the DSB, resulting in functional disruption of a gene’s activity and therefore achieving gene knock-out.
